I'm Sarah, proud owner of SB DESIGN.

I'm so excited to share my story with you and I hope that you enjoy getting to know me a little better.

Lets start with the basics. Born and raised on a farm in a very small town outside of Montreal, I dreamed of moving to the city and becoming a designer. I received my first interior design book when I was 9 years old. Who knew this would spark a life long passion. I drove my parents insane constantly re arranging the furniture layouts in our home.

After I graduated with my diploma in Interior Decorating and Display in 2006 I set my sights on moving to Montreal to pursue my dreams, as it happened I ended up moving to Toronto! I started my career as an intern at a firm that went on to hire me. I worked for this firm tor a few years and then another after that, but I was yearning for something more. While I thoroughly loved decorating, the thought of creating whole spaces and investing more time in the architectural side of things appealed to me, so I signed up for the Bachelor of Interior Design Program at Humber. I loved the program and excelled in it by being consistently on the honor roll and winning my first design award, all while raising my toddler.

With experience and some education on my side, I launched SB DESIGN. I started by putting a post on social media with a few pictures of my son's nursery and offered my services for free to update my portfolio and give my business a jump start. I received an enormous amount of requests and have been busy ever since with repeat clients and referrals!

I remember the first project I completed under my own name. It gave me insurmountable satisfaction to see the project go from concept to completion. It was a sweet little girls' room to grow into. My client was not only very easy to coordinate with, she was also focused on quality and she was committed to complete the project. She had an idea of what she wanted but had trouble pulling everything together. I gained her trust and was able to push her out of her comfort zone and the end results were spectacular. As an individual, I believe what sets me apart from others is my determination, integrity and unwavering passion. Over the past twelve months, I have successfully built relationships with my clients and strive to inspire them by transforming their space into one that will have a positive emotional effect on their lives. When I am not at work, I love creating and exploring and spending time with family and friends.
